Documents Required

Hosting Agreement (Endorsed by the Romanian Ministry for Research and Innovation)

• The hosting agreement must include:
  • Title or purpose of the research activity
  • A written undertaking by the applicant to complete the research
  • A commitment from the host organisation to support the researcher
  • Start and end date or estimated duration of the project
  • Information on potential mobility within other EU Member States (if applicable)
  • A clause stating that the agreement will lapse if admission is denied or the legal relationship is terminated
• The agreement must be endorsed by the Ministry upon request of a legally established research institution

Valid Passport

• Valid for at least three months beyond the end of the intended stay
• Issued within the last 10 years
• Must contain at least two blank pages

Photographs

• Two recent colour photographs (3 x 4 cm)
• Dated within 6 months
• Head should occupy 70%–80% of the image area

Biometric Data

• Ten fingerprints collected at the appointment unless previously recorded within the past 59 months

UK Residency

• UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code

Criminal Record Certificate

• Certificate or equivalent issued by authorities in the country of residence or origin
• Must confirm no record of criminal convictions

Travel Medical Insurance

• Insurance covering the entire duration of stay in Romania
• Minimum coverage of EUR 30,000
• Must include emergency medical services and repatriation
