How It Works

• Book Your Appointment:
  • Schedule an appointment at the appropriate Embassy, Consulate General, or Honorary Consul’s office.
• Prepare Your Documents:
  • Use our detailed checklist to gather all required documents.
• Attend Your Appointment:
  • Present yourself in person for identification, biometric data capture, and document verification.
• Processing & Delivery:
  • Your application is processed by the relevant authorities. Once approved, your new passport or ID card is sent to you by courier.
• Ongoing Support:
  • We provide continuous support and updates throughout the process

Documents Required

Please note that Romanian passport renewal or issuance from the UK typically requires the following:

Passport Application Form

• Must be filled out completely and signed
• Countersignature is required – The date of your signature must be equal to or older than the countersignature date

Two Passport Photos

• Two identical colour photographs taken within the past 6 months
• One photo must be countersigned
• We recommend submitting both photos with countersignatures as a precaution

Original Romanian Passport

• Your most recently issued undamaged passport
• This will be returned to you once the renewal process is complete

Letter of Authorisation (for collection)

• Signed authorisation letter for passport collection
• Leave the name of the collecting person blank, unless already known

Proof of UK Residency

• UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code

Additional Documentation (if applicable)

• Birth certificate, marriage certificate, or change-of-name documentation (as required)
• Parental consent and documents if applying for a minor’s passport

Please note: The Romanian Passport Office reserves the right to request additional documents at any stage. Incomplete submissions may result in delays or rejections.

Important Information

• Apply Early: Processing times may vary depending on volume and case complexity.
• Damaged Passports: If your passport is damaged or altered, it may not be accepted.
• Name Changes: If your name has changed, supporting documentation must be provided (e.g. marriage certificate).
• Children’s Applications: Additional documentation and parental authorisation are required for applicants under 18.
