EEA/EU Family Visa

Documents Required

Harmonised Application Form

• Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
• For minors: must be signed by both parents or a legal guardian

Valid Passport

• Valid for at least three months beyond the planned date of departure from the Schengen area
• Issued within the last 10 years
• Must contain at least two blank pages

Photograph

• One recent colour photo (35×45 mm)
• Dated within 6 months
• Head should occupy 70%–80% of the photo
• Can be taken digitally at the visa appointment (if required)

Biometric Data

• Fingerprints will be collected (ten prints), in accordance with EU data protection laws
• Not required if already submitted within the last 59 months

UK Residency

• UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code

Proof of Travel

• Return flight booking or confirmed travel itinerary
• If in transit: valid visa or entry permit for the next destination, along with onward ticket

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel booking confirmation, or
• Other appropriate accommodation documents covering the full stay

Proof of Finance

• Recent bank statements or evidence showing sufficient financial means during the visit

Travel Medical Insurance

• Coverage valid throughout the Schengen area
• Minimum coverage of EUR 30,000
• Must include emergency treatment and repatriation

Visa Fee Payment

• Proof of payment of the applicable visa fee

Additional Documents – Based on Purpose of Visit

Business Visits

• Invitation letter from a Romanian firm or public authority stating purpose, duration, and sponsorship details
• Evidence of ongoing trade or professional relations (e.g. contracts, emails)
• Event registrations, conference invitations, or fair entry tickets (if applicable)
• Letter from the applicant’s UK employer confirming employment, purpose of travel, and return to duties

Work-Related Training or Study

• Certificate of enrolment from the Romanian educational or training institution
• Course outline, study plan, or schedule of training activities
• Student ID or acceptance letter (if applicable)

Scientific, Political, or Cultural Events

• Invitation or confirmation from the organising institution or body in Romania
• Programme or schedule of the event, showing dates and applicant’s role or attendance
• Any official documents indicating participation, sponsorship, or affiliation

Official Delegations

• Letter issued by an authority from the applicant’s country confirming their role in the official delegation
• Copy of the official invitation from the Romanian government or intergovernmental organisation
• Supporting documents detailing the event, agenda, and dates of participation
